Tiger Den Encounter

This awesome new encounter enables visitors to venture into our Tiger den complex to be greeted by Sendiri and Dumai, Orana's four-year-old 120kg Sumatran Tiger brothers (behind a floor to ceiling mesh safety wall). Within the den building, visitors witness an engaging conditioning session that our expert animal keepers conduct with these beautiful big cats to check their health.

The Tiger Encounter is a wonderful visitor experience that gives Park staff a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness on the plight of these highly endangered big cats, whilst providing visitors with a truly memorable experience.

Conditions:

• The Tiger Den Encounter occurs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 3.15pm.
• It costs NZD $20 per person (this is additional to Park entrance).
• People must be over 8 years old to participate.
• 20 tickets are available for this awesome encounter on each day it operates.
• Tickets can only be reserved if they are pre-paid for in advance.
