Enrichment
Our team is always exploring new ways to enrich the lives of our animals and we love seeing the excitement and curiosity animals show when interacting with something new. Our team use a range of items including puzzle feeders, licking mats, climbing structures, scents e.g. spices and perfumes, horse balls and barrels to enrich the lives of the animals in our care. Items like this help promote natural behaviours such as foraging, problem-solving, and hunting, challenging both the mind and body, helping animals stay active, engaged, and mentally stimulated.
Got something you'd like to donate, get in touch or see our wish list for inspiration.
Browse
Many of the animals at Orana eat browse (tender shoots, twigs, and green leaves of trees and shrubs) every day. Our team also use browse as a way to add enrichment to the lives of our animals. At the Park we grow several edible species however, variety is the spice of life for animals too and that is where our amazing community comes in!
How can you help? We're always looking for fresh, healthy donations of recently trimmed or felled landscaping from our community. Check out the list of plants our animals love, and let us know if you'd like to coordinate a donation.
