Bugs are all around us, they play an important role in ecosystems helping to maintain balance, provide food for other organisms, control pests and pollinate plants. Orana is home to many fascinating bugs including the Canterbury boulder copper butterfly, emperor moths, dragonflies, damselflies and more!

The amazing team at the Canterbury Museum have created a bug themed activity sheet to help learn more about how bugs and animals are interconnected with each other and the world around them. Grab one from reception and see what you can find! - please bring your own pen/pencil.

BUGGIN' DAYS AT ORANA

The amazing team from the Canterbury Museum will be bringing their bug display cases to Orana!

For two days entomologist (bug scientist) Morgane Merien will be at the Park to excite you about the world of bugs!

When: Wednesday 29 January and Saturday 1 February.

Time: 11am-1pm

Where: Zoo School

Cost: No additional cost to Zoo Entry, standard admission rates apply.
