About Orana Wildlife Park

Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand’s only open-range zoo and a unique not-for-profit wildlife and conservation organisation. Our mission is to connect people with nature and to contribute to the conservation of wildlife both at home and abroad.

We are entering an exciting new chapter with the appointment of a new Chief Executive, a clear future-focused strategy, and opportunities to grow our impact in conservation, education, tourism, and community engagement.

The Opportunity

Orana Wildlife Park is seeking to appoint a new Board Member with strong financial acumen to join our governance team. Ideally, we are looking for a qualified accountant or a senior professional with significant financial management, investment, and/or audit experience.

This is a pivotal role in ensuring sound financial oversight as we deliver on our mission and invest in the Park’s long-term future. You will work alongside fellow trustees and management to support good decision-making, risk management, and financial sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, ideally CA/CPA or equivalent experience
  • Experience in governance or senior leadership roles
  • Understanding of not-for-profit organisations and/or tourism, conservation, or community services is desirable
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to contribute strategically and constructively at the Board table
  • Commitment to Orana’s purpose and values
