The Farmyard Garden is being used to add to the range of fresh seasonal produce our precious animals enjoy. 

Reduce, reuse, recycle

The Farmyard Garden was made from 90% recycled materials from around the Park.

Roofing tin and bird netting was left over from Project Rhino, the wood was from our old Zoo School building and the plastic conduit piping was left over from the new otter filtration system.

recycling ideas for your home garden

• Use egg cartons or toilet paper rolls to grow seedlings. They become a biodegradable seed germination tray.
• Cut plastic bottles in half or use plastic bakery containers to create mini glass houses to help your seedlings grow.
• Use cardboard or old carpet as a base layer to prevent weeds.
